OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

International Summer School “Curating in Context”

August 25 to September 15, 2020

We invite everyone interested to apply for participation in the summer school “Curating in Context“, which will be held online from August 25 to September 15, 2020. The number of participants is limited, and those who work and operate in the country, i.e. are part of the Macedonian cultural and artistic scene, will have an advantage.

The school refers to master’s students, or those with experience – curators, researchers, theoreticians, and other cultural workers who seek to critically reflect on the various socio-political and economic contexts and to develop curatorial methods, which will re-examine the practices of contemporary (performing) arts in relation to activism, social movements and self-organization.

On Thursday, 06/07/2020, at 20:00h in frame of the programme Contemporary Culture and Cultural Policies/Other Spaces, Lokomotiva organises series of lectures with discussions related to the position of the artists and cultural workers in the labour market, relations between artists, managers and the public and their interrelations and influences, as well as, the mutual influence with the social authorities and the environment in which we operate. Besides, lecturers will offer views related with the ethical dilemmas and thoughts about the responsibility towards the relations between us, but also the environment, nature and other beings with which we share the world.
