(Non)Aligned Movements is the project that is designed to boost the creative and collaborative potential of contemporary dance in the Western Balkans. It reinforces the social impact of Balkan contemporary dance by raising its capacities for action and collaboration, by promoting its heritage and by inscribing it in future discourses and cultural practices.

У.Ф.О. – Омаж за Каталин Ладик
Ирена З. Томажин, Јуле Флирл
Унгарско-српската поетеса и изведувачка Каталин Ладик се смета за „Јоко Оно на Балканот“ и пионерка на звучната и изведбената уметност во Југоисточна Европа: со „SoundBodyPoetry“ од нејзиниот радикален боди арт перформанс „UFO Party“ од 1969 година, ја разбранува тогашната уметничка сцена и воспоставува методи на експериментален пристап кон гласот и танцовиот перформанс веќе во седумдесеттите години на 20 век. Во нивната прва соработка, германската танцова и вокална уметница Јуле Флирл и словенечката кореографка и вокалистка Ирена З. Томажин го слават заедничкиот интерес за уметничката позиција на Каталин Ладик: омаж што ги замаглува границите помеѓу поезијата, актерството и експерименталната работа со гласот, истовремено продолжувајќи го истражувањето на двете уметници во областа на физичкото искуство на јазикот и артикулацијата на различни слоеви на гласот.

The Summer School program, “To Keep In Touch…,” lasted from August 20th to August 25th and was organized by Nomad Dance Academy and Non Aligned Movements, LOKOMOTIVA-Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture, Nomad Dance Academy Croatia, Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia, ICC, Objekt plesa, CoFestival, Antisezona and guests who participated in the program.

Archiving and historicizing of contemporary dance in the Western Balkans has been one of the activities of Nomad Dance Academy in the last decade. The Non Aligned Movements archivists reside in Skopje (North Macedonia) from 5th until 9th of May 2023.
Hosted by Lokomotiva, MKD. The working team is busy with the development of the digital dance database in construction and an exhibition (A)RESISTING DANCE AND ITS BODIES – Aspects of Dance as Culture and Art in the Socialist Yugoslavia and After (working title) with a corresponding publication in a curatorial and editorial process (all out in November 2024). Their next working residency is planned in Belgrade in December 2023.
