ACT is a European cooperation project on ecology, climate change and social transition. In an era of climate breakdown, mass extinction and growing inequalities we join our forces in a project on hope: connecting broad perspectives with specific, localised possibilities, ones that invite or demand that we ACT.
ACT is a project initiated by 10 cultural operators from 10 European countries, working in the field of performing and visual arts. ACT is a project with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
ACT emerges from the cultural operators of the preceding Imagine2020 project. This European project evolved around raising awareness on the climate crisis, and presenting the arts as a strong designer of possible futures. Social awareness and citizen action on these issues recently saw an enormous increase in intensity and spread.
ACT – ART, CLIMATE, TRANSITION
Lokomotiva – Center for new initiatives in art and culture as a member of the partner network ACT ̶ Art, climate, transition that unites art and what was previously known as ecology, but now more appropriately called the climate crisis, participated in the closing event of the Mladi levi festival organized by the partner organization Bunker.
ACT partners meeting and Art, Climate, Transition (ACT) Symposium || 27-29.07.2023 London
From 27th – 29th ACT partners are meeting in London on the partners meeting and Art, Climate, Transition (ACT) Symposium.
The ACT Symposium will feature lectures, panel discussions, performances, audio walks, and feasts. This programme includes: a practical exploration of resilience within environmental movements with Zamzam Ibrahim, a movement workshop with Brussels-based artists Daniel Linehan & Michael Helland, a masterclass in Legislative Theatre with Katy Rubin, weaving with Sheila Ghelani, and a keynote performance lecture from Mathieu Charles, whoseinnovative performance art reflects his Mauritian Creole heritage, his stance on anti-colonialism, and his embrace of diasporic futurisms.
Summerlab Skopje, 2023 – Public Negative Spaces
Lokomotiva announces: Summerlab Skopje, 2023, happening from 4 – 9th June in Skopje.
The theme of the summer lab will be related to public spaces, more specifically to the designated and planned ‘empty spaces’ in the city, or the so-called negative space in urbanism.
The summer lab will take the participants trough the parts of the city where those ‘empty spaces’ remain and those which are misused and reformed in places for private matters.

On the 28th/29th June 2023 Artsadmin and Art, Climate, Transition (ACT) will be co-hosting an international symposium exploring the intersections between contemporary performance, democratic participation, & environmental justice. This two-day symposium will be based at Toynbee Studios in London and sits alongside What Shall We Build Here festival.
