Silent Trio is an ongoing project by Christina Ciupke and Darko Dragičević that unfolds in different chapters. It started in January 2020 and it will last through October 2021. Throughout the project the two artists are exploring the interrelation between nature and man-made objects.

Lokomotiva is happy to announce: “And then the doors opened again” continues in Skopje the research phase started in Bruxelles at Kaai, during which a series of spectators share individually their visions about future spectatorship and theatre. Part of the research is also an online collective workshop on the same topic with spectators from Macedonia and abroad.

Curating in Context offers critical reflection on diverse socio-political and economic contexts, as well as a possibility to develop curatorial methods to rethink the practices of contemporary (performing) arts in relation to activism, self-organization and critical thinking.

Thematically, Curating in Context is related to the question of the curatorial and its extended understanding which goes beyond black or white box presentation and representation politics. The school analyzes the environment in which art is produced and disseminated, and it focuses on creation of knowledge and opportunities for practitioners who want to pursue their career as curators in the field of performing arts and interdisciplinary.

Curating in Context critically reflects on the perspectives of producing, advocating, initiating diverse models of presenting and articulating art within certain context.

KINO KULTURA MOVES OUT OF “KINO KULTURA”

The end of 2020 marked the end of Kino Kultura project space. We saw its opening in December 2015, and during these – almost five years, different individuals brought together through two organizations (Theater of Cvetko the Navigator and Lokomotiva) were developing a space primarily thought up as a new place for theater, dance, performance, as well as other contents coming from the wider cultural and civil society scene.

We thought of it as a space that will somehow continue the mission of “Mala Stanica” – a space in the 90s where some of us learned how to create non-institutional culture, to create a new theater, as well as exhibitions, films, and other activities – together with other organizations and individuals. Some of us, students at the time, were learning and creating while working, and even after “Mala Stanica” was closed down, they continued, and developed new initiatives…
