How Can We Move? Ecological Perspectives on Contemporary Dance

EDN is organizing an online conference to which artists, cultural practitioners, academics, and local and international policy makers are invited. The conference on 14 November between 10:00 and 13:00 will coincide with the release and public presentation of EDN’s upcoming research publication. Register by 10 November 2022.
How can we move? This question is a common thread running through EDN’s 2022 activities. The conference will bring together conversations, thoughts, and actions around the theme of ecological sustainability. The annual online closing event on November 14, 2022, titled “How Can We Move? Ecological Perspectives on Contemporary Dance,” will bring together participants from within and outside the network and the sector, address burning issues for the sector and for society and culture more broadly, and present the results of all annual project activities.

Lokomotiva, Skopje in the period from 25th of August till the 3rd of September in the small city of Struga, will organize three activities as part of the project (Non)Aligned Movements:
The “Summit” of the Nomad Dance Academy will be attended by individuals and organizations, members of the Nomad Dance Academy, and they will discuss the ways of cooperation in the region, networking between festivals for contemporary dance and performance, the development of residential programs in that field, and the regional archive for contemporary dance and performance on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, will be discussed as well.

The citizens association Lokomotiva – Centre for New Initiative in Art and Culture from Skopje, programmes and organises the first International Summer School “Curating in Context”, which will be implemented from August, 25 until September, 15, 2020.
The first edition of the school is organized as part of Lokomotiva’s two-year project “Curating in Context” (2019-2021). The project is realized in partnership with the Stockholm University of Arts, the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Dramatic Art) and Tanzfabrik Berlin, and it is supported by the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport – Erasmus+. This year, the International Summer School “Curating in Context” is also supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia.

We are delighted to announce that Kino Kultura project space, represented by Lokomotiva, became one of the members of EDN- European Dancehouse Network.
For the founders, Lokomotiva and Theatre Navigator, this is important news and is the realization of part of our goals for internationalization.
This membership in EDN, for us, means that Kino Kultura as a project space for contemporary performing arts, among what, dance and performance was recognized and supported by the international partners.
