The central theme of the performance is the state of pregnancy as an intensified “inner self-sensation”. The artist notices that being pregnant transcends the singularity of experience and undermines all forms of subjectivity ingrained in our culture. Although the medicalization of this sphere gives the illusion of control, this condition escapes the systemic order, is the unknown, and evokes anxiety. Ramona Nagabczynska’s choreography explores the state of permanent metamorphosis and reveals the dismay caused by women’s reproductive power. In doing so, she draws on both ancient myths and contemporary horror films.

The performance was shown as part of the exhibition ‘Witkacy. Seismograph of the Acceleration Age’ at the National Museum in Warsaw (curators: Zofia Machnicka, Paweł Polit).
This presentation is happening with the support of Perform Europe as part of the (M)others on tour project, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia and Heinrich Böll Foundation.
The performance will be followed by a conversation with Irena Cvetkovikj, an independent researcher in the field of gender studies.
BIOGRAPHY
Ramona Nagabczyńska is a performer and choreographer based in Warsaw, Poland. Born in Toronto, Canada. Ramona trained dance at the Warsaw State Ballet School, the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt and The Place in London after which she obtained a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Warsaw.
Her work often defies the boundaries of artistic disciplines, which is why she tends to be referred to as visual artist or theatre director. Body Parts, Silenzio!, Le Jeu de Massacre, Bliss, Performers Anonymous and I Love Ballet are among her most important performances.
She has been an Aerowaves Top 20 artist twice and an APAP Performing Europe artist between 2015 and 2019. As the first choreographer in history, she received an award for Best Director for Silenzio! At the Divine Comedy Festival in 2021. She is co-founder of Centre in Motion in Warsaw, which is an artist-led space for choreography.

Централна тема на перформансот е бременоста како засилена „внатрешна самосензитивност“. Уметницата забележува дека бременоста ја надминува единечноста на личното искуство и ги поткопува сите форми на субјективност вкоренети во нашата култура. Иако медицинализацијата на оваа сфера дава илузија на контрола, оваа состојба ѝ се измолкнува на системската логика, тоа е непознатото кое предизвикува несигурност. Кореографијата на Рамона Нагабчињска ја истражува состојбата на постојана метаморфоза и ја открива несигурноста што ја предизвикува репродуктивната моќ на жената. Притоа, таа се потпира и на древни митови и на современи хорор филмови.

БИОГРАФИЈА
Рамона Нагабчињска e изведувачка и кореографка родена во Торонто, Канада. Во моментов живее и работи во Варшава, Полска. Танцот го изучувала во Државното балетско училиште во Варшава, на Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst во Франкфурт и на The Place во Лондон, по што магистрирала културолошки студии на Универзитетот во Варшава.
Нејзината работа често ги надминува границите меѓу уметничките дисциплини, па затоа неретко ја нарекуваат и визуелна уметница или театарска режисерка. Меѓу нејзините најзначајни перформанси се Body Parts, Silenzio!, Le Jeu de Massacre, Bliss, Performers Anonymous и I Love Ballet.
Двапати била избрана за Aerowaves Top 20 уметница, а во периодот 2015–2019 година била дел од програмата APAP Performing Europe. Како прва кореографка во историјата, ја добила наградата за најдобар режисер за Silenzio! на фестивалот Divine Comedy во 2021 година. Таа е и со-основачка на Центарот во движење во Варшава – уметнички управуван простор за кореографија.
Оваа изведба е овозможена со поддршка од Perform Europe, како дел од проектот (M)others on tour, Министерство за култура на Република Северна Македонија и Фондацијата Хајнрих Бел.
