What is Lokomotiva

Lokomotiva- Centre for New initiatives in Arts and culture is a NGO, formed 2003 as a team of creators desiring to develop a network of artists, producers, directors, creators and community regardless of the expertise to be engaged in developing indepaendent art scene in the country.

Vision
to be mobile open community space for creation with the presence of artistic leadership to supervise the creative process, space for artists, young people and public where everyone will have the opportunity to come in touch and learn about arts and to explore arts, to be their information and display and distribution centre on the national, regional and international level.

Mission
to be the new dynamic environment both in Macedonia and in the South Central European region, that will inform, promote, foster and mobilize new generation of authors, creators, artists, storytellers, digital storytellers, filmmakers, an forum where creators can receive information, meet each other, share experiences, exchange ideas and knowledge, and create the future of art and culture in the country.

General aim
Lokomotiva - Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture - is an organization that aims to create platform and possibilities for development of an independent art scene, to integrate young artistic potentials, to realise new initiatives and ideas through its programs, projects and activities in form of education, production, research, presentation on national, regional and international level.

Objectives of the organization
To create new audience with a special accent on the coming generation
Networking on the national, regional and international level with individuals, NGO's, independent arts centres working in the field of arts and culture
To provide access and education to artists, creators, students and the community;
To introduce new initiatives and tendencies in arts in a relevant context and by creating connection and interaction between technology, culture, politics, theory and society;
To present and promote new ways of expression in arts;
To promote creativity and new trends in arts and use the tradition as one of the sources for creativity;
To initiate action, to provide impulses to enhance international cooperation, collaboration and co-productions, and active networking;
To improve the independent production in all the segments of arts and culture;
To elevate technical aspects of different media and their influence in arts works creation;
To explore new digital and creative domains;
